Choosing a diamond size is largely dependent on the quality grade that you like most and the budget that you have set. In addition you'll need to determine how the diamond will be set. Some ring styles look better with very specific diamond sizes. Casual Conversation with your partner may uncover what would be an appropriate choice for a diamond. Princess and round cut diamonds are the most popular choice for engagement rings. You'll find that most ring mountings are designed specifically to hold round or princess cut diamonds. Recently, emerald and asscher cuts have become an increasingly popular choice for women that want something different.

• Cut

  In the past the cut of a diamond has been described as it's shape and while this is partially true, it does not tell the entire story. The cut is what the diamond cutter must do to bring the brilliance out of a diamond. A poorly cut diamond will not reflect as much light as a masterfully cut diamond. Rokstok carries only the finest cut diamonds made to reflect optimal amounts of light.
  

• Color

  The color of a diamond affects it value and beauty, it's defined as the shading or overall hue of the diamond. A diamond can be yellow, gray, brown, red, blue, pink, or green. Poor quality diamonds most commonly have yellow, brown or gray shades to them. A finer quality diamond is considered colorless because it has a lack of all color and appears more transparent.
  

• Clarity

  Diamonds that have imperfections or "inclusions" that are easily seen to the naked are considered lower quality and lesser in value. Rokstok only offers diamonds that do not have inclusions visible to the naked eye; this would mean the diamond must have a clarity grade of SI2-Flawess.
  

• Carat Weight

  A diamond's value is most affected by the carat weight and larger diamonds can become exponentially more valuable with slight increases in size. A diamond is weighed not measured and unit of weight for diamonds is called the carat. A full carat diamond weighs 100 carat points.
